Review QR Card - Spec

Outline Updated July 17 · for redline

What it is

A small card that sits in every room and gathering space. Two jobs:

  1. Ask happy guests for a Google review while the feeling is fresh.
  2. Capture guest emails - today the property only holds the coordinator's email for each booking, so the card is our only direct line to the other 120 people who slept here.

Card copy, draft

Front:

Enjoying your stay?
A review helps this place grow.
[QR code]

Below or on the back, the email companion:

Want the occasional note from the farm?
Leave us your email and we will keep it rare and worth opening.
[second QR, or short URL]

[Redline: one QR or two? One card face with two codes can confuse. Option B is review QR on the front, email QR on the back with the line above.]

QR targets

  • Review QR: the Google review link for the property's Google Business profile [CONFIRM the profile URL and generate the short review link from it - the g.page review shortlink comes from the Business Profile admin. Also CONFIRM which listing is canonical, since the public brand today is "Boulder Creek Retreat" on bouldercreekretreat.com]
  • Email QR: a one-field form (email only, one tap) [CONFIRM the rail - GHL form or Tally. Tally already runs the waiver. Whichever rail is chosen, the list must land somewhere the team actually keeps - this feeds the A2P and newsletter lanes later. If SMS opt-in is ever added to this form, the A2P consent rules apply - see 26-0717-A2P-WEBPAGE-INSTRUCTIONS-FOR-RYLIE.md]

Size and placement

  • Size: A2 flat card, 4.25 x 5.5 in [redline: tent-fold if it keeps falling over on wood surfaces]
  • One per sleeping room: nightstand or dresser, same spot every room so housekeeping resets it without thinking
  • One per gathering space: near the exit or the coffee station, where people linger on the last morning

Production notes

  • Sturdy cardstock, matte finish (glossy glares under lamps and phone flashlights)
  • Color: hold to the property palette; final look waits for the design pass. A plain, well-set text card is fine for v1 - do not block the ask on design.
  • Print run ~40 first batch, local print shop or online short run
  • Test both QRs from a phone camera at arm's length BEFORE printing the run
  • Ownership: on-site host checks cards on turnover; booking owner owns reprint

How it connects

  • During the stay: cards sit quietly. No verbal pitch.
  • T+1: the thank-you email repeats the same ask with the same link, per the comms standard - the card plants it, the email makes it one tap at home.
  • The email list the second QR builds has no home today [CONFIRM owner - likely the booking owner keeps it in GHL].
